The Minnesota State Wood Innovation Team goal is to expand wood products markets and strengthen the forest industry in Minnesota while working to reduce hazardous fuels in Superior and Chippewa National Forests and other State and County forestlands.
A collaborative team representing Minnesota state agencies, universities, National Forest, State and other public and private landowners, economic development organizations, and private industry was formed to support existing and emerging wood industry in Minnesota and enhance the economic and environmental health of communities. This team focuses on developing strategies and on-the-ground actions that will enhance the forest industry and reduce fire risk in Minnesota.
The team holds quarterly meetings to enhance communication around these issues, develop and monitor specific activities, respond to unexpected agency and industry needs, and develop new projects to expand wood markets in Minnesota. Email Mike Reichenbach at [email protected] if you wish to receive announcements about these meetings.
The Minnesota State Wood Innovation Team is supported through a grant from the USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry Wood Education Resource Center.
